Took delivery of duet today and thought it would be a piece of cake setting it up.....
I took the decision to stay with SB due to me already having 2 SB booms. Both play deezer with no problems.
The setup of the duet was ok. All my other stuff plays through the hifi/sb setup BUT the deezer app doesnt want to play ball. The controller says connecting but nothing. Used the controller on the boom and both play deezer....arghhhhh. Anyone any idea what might be up?

Hi

I have a new network and new NAS (Diskstation) with LMS installed. All working fine, but my old Duet Receiver doesn't show up, LMS says "Your player was not found" ...

My remote doesn't work anymore (probably just a dead battery).

How can I reconfigure the Receiver / how can I make LMS find the Receiver?

(The Receiver is connected with an Ethernet cable).

Hi all and thanks in advance fro any suggestions...
I have 2 Duet receivers, one in the living room and one in the kitchen.
The one in the kitchen works just fine.
Until a few days ago so did the other, but today it won't.
It has power.
When I turn the wireless network on it connects to it and shows the low white light.
The controller shows it.
But when I pick music to play, the light goes to yellow instead of bright white and nothing happens. The timer on the controller is moving so music must be playing.
I have powered down and rebooted every single piece of equipment and all to no avail.
I've never had this problem before and I'm stumped, mainly because the other receiver will play.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be very thankful... ;-)

Receiver stuck on blue light

I'm hoping this will ring a bell with someone here.

I have a Receiver that has worked fine for some time on an Ethernet connection. I now want to use it on WiFi (same LAN, same server).

I did a factory reset on the Receiver (hold button in until it flashes red rapidly), and the Receiver duly appeared on the controller with its default name. I started the configuration process by telling it to connect to the WiFi network. The controller displayed the spinning disc waiting for a connection, meanwhile the Receiver with through the sequence of lights showing it had connected to WiFi and got an IP (steady red, yellow, green, blue). At this point I would expect the controller to prompt me for the IP of the LMS server - but it didn't, the disk just kept on spinning.

After several minutes the controller reported that it could not connect to the WiFi network - the Receiver, meanwhile, showed a blue light indicating it was connected to the network and was waiting to be given the address of the LMS server. A check on the router (DHCP server) confirmed that it was in the client list with an IP allocated.

If I restart the controller with the blue light showing on the Receiver, the Receiver does not appear on the controller. If I reset the Receiver (flashing red light) then it does appear with its default name.

I have tried:-

- Several factory resets of the Receiver

- Several factory resets of the Controller

- Several reboots of the router / DHCP server

- Giving the Receiver a fixed IP, and also reserving an IP on the router (but we know DHCP is working, so I doubt if this is relevant)

There are two Squeezebox Radios on the same WiFi network, and one other receiver on Ethernet. All of those are working fine, so LMS is running OK. Just to be sure, though, I uninstalled and reinstalled it - same result. The Receiver in question does not show in the list of connected players.

After spending several hours on this, I still have a Receiver showing a blue light while the Controller tells me the Receiver can't connect to the WiFi. It appears the WiFi connection is OK (the Receiver appears in the router client list), we know LMS is OK (the three other players are working), and the Controller operates the other players OK. I've run out of ideas - has anyone else seen this and have an answer to it, please?

Can't connect Duet Receiver to LMS running on Synology NAS

Dear all,

You're my last hope for solving this issue, before I completely give up. To cut a story short, having returned from a number of trips, I found my Duet Receiver in "blue led" mode, not able to connect to LMS running on Synology NAS. This is my third day of trying to take it back to life, so far without success.

I have tried all possible solutions discussed on Net, from resetting and power cycling all three components (router, NAS and Receiver+Controller), to changing connection types (wireless or wired). No success.

LMS running on NAS data:

Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.3 - 1375965195 @ Mon Aug 19 11:42:55 PDT 2013
Hostname: DiskStation
Server IP Address: 192.168.1.8
Server HTTP Port Number: 9002
Operating system: Synology DiskStation (DSM Package Management) - EN - utf8
Platform Architecture: unknown
Perl Version: 5.18.4 - armle-linux
Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1)
Total Players Recognized: 0

Controller's Diagnostics data:

Wireless Info:

IP Address: 192.168.1.6
DNS server: 192.168.1.1

Server Info:

mysqueezebox.com: 79.125.18.68 (and constantly changing)
Ping: Ok
TCP Port 3483: Ok
TCP Port 9000: Ok
mysqueezebox registration: registered
LMS: Not connected
Library name: Not connected
Ping: Not connected
TCP Port 3483: Not connected
TCP Port 9000: Not connected

Router/modem info:

Model: Bbox-3 (Belgium Belgacom current modem/wireless router)
Firewall settings: Currently "Medium", tried "Low"
DHCPv4 Server: enabled
Gateway IP: 192.168.1.1

Synology NAS (DS112) info:

LMS: 7.7.3-042 and running (tried stopping, uninstalling, etc)
Firewall: LMS's relevant ports opened through enabled rules
Network test of LMS says: "LAN accessible", checkboxes for "enabled" and "allow through firewall"

I assume there could be two possible explanations: either I miss something small yet significant, or Receiver got damaged while I was away, maybe due to possible electricity blackout, lightning or something, as it stayed connected for a week or so.

By the way, just for the sake of completeness, I must say that I can't connect to mysqueezebox.com (for internet radio for instance) and neither to LMS running on laptop, although I carefully troubleshoot both options.

Do you think there's a way to fix this, before I give up and look for another Duet/Receiver on eBay?

Promise to send you a personal postcard to wherever you live, if things improve...

Best,
Serge

Squeezebox Duets for Sale

$

Hi there,

I just wanted to let people know that I have two, fully boxed, *excellent condition* duets for sale (complete with remotes and leads etc.).
I also have one spare duet receiver, without the box or remote control, but again, complete with all the leads & power pack.

I was going to put then onto e-bay, but I thought that I would let the folks on this forum have 'first dibs', if there was interest?

For the fully boxed units, I would be willing to accept £70 each + £10 to cover P&P.
For the single base unit, I would sell it for £40 + £10 to cover P&P.

If anyone is interested, PM me. I will keep them off e-bay for 7 days, so if there hasn't been any interest after that time, that's where you'll find them.

Thanks, David

Hi, have browsed the forum for an answer....I would like to play my music on SB duet without the computer being on. I'm guessing I need the LMS software installed on the nas drive. Its a buffalo terastation. Can this be done? Other than that, delighted with my squeezebox!

Configuring player fixed IP address in system with no DHCP

I have a few questions associated with my post about "Running LMS on a tiny server" in Logitech Media Server

My Duet documentation describes how to assign a fixed IP address for the controller, but it doesn't mention how to assign a fixed IP address for the player. How does this work (or do I need a newer manual than "SB DUET USER GUIDE 1.01 (EMEA/EN)"???

In assigning the fixed IP address in the controller, you have to supply a DNS IP address. I'm planning to install my Duet on a "network" that consists of a Synology DS213air and nothing else. The DS213air has a built-in WiFi access point, but I'm unsure about arrangements for DNS. I've asked if the DS213air has DNS capability (or 3rd party add-on) in the Synology forum.

Does the Duet have any use for IP names and DNS resolution (ignoring mysqueezebox.com for the time being)? The only mention of an IP name that I found was in the LMS Server Settings where I found:

Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.5 - 1416570306 @ Thu Nov 27 07:38:09 CUT 2014
Hostname: Swiftys
Server IP Address: 192.168.1.2

... I don't know where that "Swiftys" came from - it's accurate enough - but I suspect I entered that name whilst installing the LMS.

Will the Duet object is there if no DHCP server or DNS accessible on my "network"?

No BBC stations playing

I was listening as usual to BBC6music on my Squeezebox Duet when it suddenly cut out at about 3pm French time today. Since the changes at the BBC, I no longer listen via the BBC Iplayer app, but via Tune-in radio or directly via favourites on mysqueezebox.com, which is fine as I rarely need the listen again feature and if I do, I can listen on another device.

I have tried other streams for several BBC stations and can get nothing - if I try the Iplayer app, I get the recorded message about stations being no longer available, but every other method just silence.

I've tried rebooting everything, but to no avail. Is anyone else having the same problem? Does anyone have any tips?

For information, it's a Duet, version 7.7.2 - r33893 @ Wed Mar 14 06:37:22 MDT 2012
OS is a QNAP: TS-219PII Linux - FR - utf8
Architecture de la plate-forme : armv5tel-linux
Version de Perl : 5.10.0 - armv5tel-linux-thread-multi
Version de la base de données : DBD::SQLite 1.34_01 (sqlite 3.7.7.1)

I am listening outside the UK (France, hence some of the info above is in French, sorry!)

Thanks for any help.

Any suggestions? Thanks, Paul

Receiver Not Showing Up

$

Hi everyone,

after a house move, I can't seem to connect my Duet's Receiver to the rest of it all.

I run SqueezeBox Server (7.7.2-33893) off my QNAP TS-219P, have a Duet and a Radio.

The symptoms are as follows:
- Radio connects and plays music from the server just fine (shows up as "Not connected" on MySqueezebox.com though)
- Receiver is not to be seen anywhere (LMS dropdown, Settings > Player, MySqueezebox.com > Players)
- Pressing the button on the receiver goes through the light show, ends up being white but still the Receiver doesn't show up anywhere
- "Server Info" in the Controller shows "Logitech Media Server: Not Connected"

Now with the move came a new router and a new IP address range and I changed my QNAP's network parameters accordingly. Could there be anything left from the old configuration somewhere?
My Radio and the Controller show up in the router's DHCP Client Devices but the Receiver does not show up in there. Should it?
The Controller is connected to the network and all parameters in "Wireless Info" are correct.
Server log shows nothing exciting.

Any help would be appreciated!

Duet Controller - Resurrection?

Hi

Just bought a new battery to resurrect my sad neglected Duet Controller (squeeze commander has been doing just fine this last while but I need the DC to setup two reset SB Receivers.)

The buttons on DC flicker white ever so briefly as I insert the new battery and that's all. Tried holding the battery at different angles and pressures against the DC contacts which again returns nothing but the briefest of flickers?

The battery is showing 3.9v on me ole multimeter so I'm assuming there's enough juice to power on a DC that's working normally?

Interestingly, placing the DC in its charger without a battery has the same effect, ie the briefest of flickers from the DC's buttons.

Is there any hope for my old DC or do youz think it's well and truly fried and buried?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or tips, greatly appreciated.

Hi there

Haven't been here for a while, everything with my system has been running smoothly, until...
Switching for playing to my library content to a radio stream meets with silence, although receiver light and Ethernet shows incoming data. Does this on both my Receivers whether synced or on there own.
Have tried so many resets. Running LMS 7.8.1 on Windows PC

Any suggestions very much appreciated.

Cheers

Dead Receiver?

$

I recently bought a second hand Duet for my bedroom system but I can't seem to get it to work.

It looks like this: the Controller works fine, I can use with my Touch in the living room with no issues. The Receiver however, is another story. When I powered it up yesterday it went through the different LED colours before the red LED started blinking slowly, from now it seems to be completely stuck!
The receiver is connected through a LAN cable to my Huawei HG655D router(also tried Linksys E2000) but it does not show up on DHCP devices list, nor on the screen of the SB Controller.
It does not respond to pressing the home button but it gave the correct error message when I removed the Wifi card (2x fast purple blink).
I measured the voltages inside and they are correct, I also re-soldered the Ethernet connector and the home button.

Is it dead or just bugged / bricked, or maybe I'm doing something wrong?

No Rhapsody sound + Spotify unable to play file type

$

Hi - Longtime user of the duet who, for the most part, has had no issues for years streaming radio and rhapsody from mysqueezebox.com. (I usually leave my computer off.)

As I have discovered recently, rhapsody changed something and I'll never again be able to use their service with the duet. So, I cancelled that service and subscribed to spotify premium.

However, anything Spotify I try to play through the Duet controller, the squeezebox app, or squeezepad app returns the error "unable to play filetype". Arg!

So, can anyone advise me how to get Spotify (or other demand service) to work through the online process? If not possible, do i need then to have my computer and LMS on all the time to make spotify to work?

thanks in advance,
erik
