Hi - I have 3 receivers that have shown very poor RX quality over years. I solved that by having WiFi repeater close to them, but still, quality was so unacceptable (low signal and very often causing re-bufferring, disturbing my whole system) that I decided to open the boxes to add external antenna. But I saw that both antenna (main and diversity) are taped on the miniPCI connector for the main and directly on the PCB for the diversity ... OMG. These guys have done that probably because they want to ship the PCB fuly equipped to a place that put them in the casing. But the result is disastrous in term of RF performance (obviously they have no idea of what they do). So re-taping the antennas on the casing, away from noisy parts and well benefiting from their ground plane change totally the RX quality. Now, all my receiver work flawlessly w/o the need of repeaters. I wish I have done that before.
