Time & Date background/wallpaper

Hi,

I've had some troubles due to a new router, but it's up and running again. One of the actions I took was updating the server software and hereafter the controller software got updated as well.

The controller usually sits in its cradle and when idle displays the time and date. However, after the software update, there's a gradient background behind the time now, which makes the time really hard to read from various angles, whereas before there was no background (or a black background).

It's just a minor annoyance, but still I'd like to know how (if) this can be fixed.

To be clear: settings - screen - wallpaper is set to "black".
